Growth Vs Risk Matrix
Growth increases upward and risk decreases to the right, so the most attractive IPOs sit in the top-right quadrant.
NWE Resources is a margin story rather than a growth story: revenue has slipped for two years as the group walked away from low-margin distribution, while gross margin climbed past 52% and PAT nearly doubled to RM8.5m. At about 12.6 times FYE2026 earnings and with no vendor selling, the pricing is reasonable for a business converting a fifth of revenue into profit. Three things deserve weight. Part of the FYE2026 profit reflects Pioneer Status tax relief that will not last indefinitely. The consumer channel is a multi-level marketing network, which carries regulatory and reputational risk of its own. And much of the RM28.6m raise goes into product development and marketing whose returns are harder to verify than a factory's. The coverage did not report customer concentration or a segment split, and no research house fair value has been published. Balloting is on 13 October and listing on 21 October 2026.
Strengths
- Gross margin of 52.4% and PAT margin of 20.5% in FYE2026. - PAT up from RM4.5m (FYE2024) to RM8.5m (FYE2026). - In-house R&D, formulation and certified manufacturing and repackaging. - A three-pillar model spanning B2B hospitality, consumer MLM and B2B formulation. - No Offer for Sale — all proceeds go to the company.
Weaknesses
- Revenue has declined two years running. - Earnings are flattered by time-limited Pioneer Status tax incentives. - Customer concentration and the segment split were not disclosed in the coverage. - Hospitality revenue is tied to hotel occupancy.
Opportunities
- Six new health-food formulations and five new personal care products, mainly skincare. - RM13.7m for product development and marketing. - Live e-commerce and social-media selling. - A Johor M-Plan sales office to widen distribution.
Threats
- Direct-selling regulation of the MLM channel. - Expiry of tax incentives lifting the effective tax rate. - Competition in health supplements and personal care. - Hotel-sector downturns.

The trailing 100 units are intentional: applying just over a boundary, such as 20,100 instead of 20,000, lands in the next balloting tier. Success rate is a heuristic, not published balloting odds.
